I am a Florida Native and have been in construction, marketing and entertainment for nearly 25 years. I began in construction, as many do, doing the actual labor. I assisted in completing all types of projects both residential and commercial. Early on, I worked with a company that specialized in bar and nightclub design and construction. I assisted in the development of eleven entertainment venues.

My interest in larger projects led me to working onsite, and eventually as a Project Manager for a larger company responsible for several multi-year, in-situ condo renovation projects throughout Orlando, FL. In due course, that company moved to the federal sector where I would assist in the procurement and programming, and continue as PM and onsite support for a wide-range of projects on Naval Air Station, Keywest, FL. From armories, hangers, radar and parachute rooms, runways and barrack repairs, to a VA hospital, Firehouse, and specialized lab renovations.

Over the years in construction I gained a very diverse background. I performed and managed the maintenance of an olympic training facility. I led the construction of twenty-two single family homes, assisted in luxury condo and large retail design and pre-con phases. I led the construction of massive convention displays for companies like Nike and Sony. Recently, I worked with the Dunkn’ and Baskin Robbins brands on franchise rebranding and renovation efforts for twenty-four stores in FL and CT.

While working in the construction industry, and since 2001, I also pursued the marketing and entertainment spaces. I was producing entertainment shows for profit and building websites for all types of clients. Remember, Google didn’t launch until 1998, and websites were not available to the general public until 1994. As time went on, the digital marketing space was emerging and event marketing and website development began to entwine very quickly. I would eventually launch my own digital marketing company. I began to assist the construction company I worked for and started to partner with companies like MyWebsiteSpot.com. We worked with clients such as Marriott and Nascar, as well as local small businesses.

Although, technology had already begun its implementation of software and apps into the contractors side making many complicated processes easier (and to save money). I still wasn’t seeing it on the customers side. So I started asking…

1. How can the most basic technology make getting quality work done at your house easier & save people money?

2. And how does someone even know if the prices they are getting are really qualified and they won’t be asking for more money once it starts?

There has to be something better than asking a group of strangers on social media “if they know a guy?”,  now there is.
